Situated in between Foster’s gherkin and Rogers’ Lloyds bank a new Bovis Lend Lease tower is under construction….. designed by guess who……richard rogers! The Gollins Melvin Ward and Partners tower from 1969 is under demolition as we speak. It is incredibly beautiful right now, seemingly defying gravity. The first 8 floors have been removed, once a temporary scaffolding has been erected the upper floors will follow….

Looking at the rendering of the proposed tower i am left wondering what the current obsession is with shard like construction…..(renzo piano’s london bridge tower on the right)
